THOR Stars In 'Murder At The Presidio' With LOU DIAMOND PHILIPS and JASON PRIESTLY
October 19, 2004Canadian hard rock legend Thor the Rock Warrior (a.k.a. Jon Mikl Thor) continues to flex his acting muscles and stretch his hard rock career into the world of film and television. Thor is currently filming "Murder at the Presidio" with Lou Diamond Philips and Jason Priestly in Victoria, British Columbia. Directed by John Fasano, the high-action mystery is slated to be a USA network special in early 2005. Thor performs a song in the movie and Fasano directed a high-budget video for the track. Thor also co-wrote the title song to the film, a track called "Glimmer", that will appear on his upcoming album, "Thor Against the World". The hooky hard rock number was penned with Frank Meyer, who co-produced the album with Bruce Duff. Meyer and Duff’s group SWEET JUSTICE is the backing band on the album, and the duo produced the effort under their production moniker Messiaz. Meyer is best known for his work with the punk rock 'n' roll band THE STREETWALKIN' CHEETAHS and as an author ("On the Road with the Ramones"),while Duff has played with ADZ, JEFF DAHL and 45 GRAVE and is also a well known writer (under the pseudonym S.L. Duff).
Fasano and Thor worked together in 1986 on the cult classic "Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare", which Thor starred in. Fasano later went on to find success as a writer, producer and director, working on such films as "Another 48 hours", "Universal Soldier: The Return", and "Darkness Falls".
